School Partnerships
Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) partners with local school districts in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach to create environments that support student, staff and parent health.

Healthy habits developed at a young age can last a lifetime. BCHD provides an array of programs and services that increase physical activity, improve nutrition and promote social-emotional well-being.

International Walk & Roll to School Day
Walk & Roll to School Day is a annual celebration that brings neighborhoods together to experience the joy of an active commute. Organized nationally by the National Center for Safe Routes to School , the initiative has grown exponentially since launching in 1997. Today, thousands of classrooms across all 50 U.S. states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico lace up and roll out every October. What began as a one-day event has transformed into a sustained, year-round effort to make streets safer and keep kids healthy and active.
